Multi functional bending machine operation guide
(Suitable for multifunctional CNC/hydraulic bending machines for profiles, pipes, flat steel, and round steel, which can be used as workshop operating procedures, employee training materials, and take into account safety, startup, processing, shutdown, and fault precautions)
1、 Preparation points before startup
1. On site cleaning
Clear the workbench, mold slide debris, iron filings, and waste materials; There are no obstacles in the workpiece area.
2. Equipment inspection
-Check the hydraulic oil level for leaks; Preheat in a low-temperature environment for 3-5 minutes without load.
-Check the fastening bolts of each mold, roller, and fixture, and ensure that there are no cracks or defects in the mold.
-Check the limit device, emergency stop button, and foot switch for reliable operation.
-Lubricate the guide rail, screw, and movable shaft as needed.
3. Confirmation of workpieces and molds
Select matching molds based on profile specifications and bending radius; It is prohibited to forcefully bend thick or hard materials with small molds. Check the material and thickness of the materials to confirm that they are within the rated processing range of the equipment.
2、 Security prerequisite regulations (mandatory implementation)
1. During operation, it is strictly prohibited to insert limbs into the roller, pressure head, and mold extrusion area.
2. Multiple people work together under unified command, and it is prohibited for multiple people to control the operation switch at the same time.
3. During equipment operation, it is prohibited to adjust molds, clean iron filings, or reach out to measure workpieces.
4. Maintenance and replacement of molds must be carried out by shutting down, cutting off power, and releasing pressure.
5. It is not allowed to dismantle or shield the limit protection device.
3、 Parameter setting (key for CNC models)
1. Enter the material width, thickness, target bending radius, and feed rate.
2. Set the parameters for the head stroke, bending angle, and rebound compensation (compensation should be reserved for steel bending due to rebound).
3. For the first processing, select * * single action mode * * no-load trial run to confirm that there is no interference in the movement.
>Practical experience: The rebound of stainless steel and aluminum alloy is greater than that of ordinary carbon steel, and the compensation value needs to be increased; Cold bending is strictly prohibited from being pressed in place at once to prevent cracking and deformation of the workpiece.
4、 Standard Processing Operating Procedure
1. Place the workpiece steadily on the supporting roller, align with the positioning reference, and clamp firmly.
2. Confirm that the workpiece is placed straight, without tilting or hanging on one side.
3. Perform a jog test feed, observe the direction of the workpiece, and continue bending after there is no deviation.
4. Continuously observe the bending process:
-Whether the workpiece is twisted, wrinkled, or cracked;
-Check if the roller is evenly stressed and stop immediately if there is any abnormal noise.
5. After reaching the preset angle/arc, the pressure head automatically retracts; The workpiece can only be removed after the mechanism is fully reset.
6. Inspection: Measure radians, angles, and straightness, and only produce in bulk if the parameters are qualified.
5、 Common process issues to be addressed
1. The angle rebound after bending is too large: increase the bending compensation and reduce the feed rate appropriately.
2. Twisted and bulging profile side: mismatched mold, asymmetric clamping, and excessive feed.
3. Severe indentation on the surface of the workpiece: mold wear, inclusion of iron chips on the contact surface, protective gaskets can be installed.
4. End cracking: The material has burrs and the cold bending radius is too small; If necessary, polish the end or reduce the amount of single pressing.
6、 Shutdown operation specifications
1. After processing is completed, the indenter and roller return to their initial safe positions.
2. Shut down the hydraulic system and clean the iron filings on the workbench and mold surface.
3. Long term shutdown: Cut off the main power supply; Wipe the mold clean and apply rust proof oil.
4. After continuous high-temperature operation, do not immediately turn off the power. The oil pump should run for a short period of time to assist in heat dissipation.
7、 Prohibited operations
1. It is strictly prohibited to process workpieces that exceed the rated thickness and cross-sectional dimensions of the equipment;
2. It is prohibited to bend quenched steel and brittle materials;
3. Do not use equipment to squeeze, straighten, or shear workpieces;
4. Overloading for prolonged processing is prohibited to avoid permanent deformation of the oil cylinder and machine body;
5. It is prohibited to initiate bending actions when the workpiece is not firmly clamped;
6. Non technical personnel are not allowed to modify the internal pressure, servo, and limit parameters of the system at will.
8、 Daily maintenance supporting requirements
1. Lubricate the rotating rollers and guide rails in each shift;
2. Regularly check the oil pipe joints and oil cylinder seals, and promptly deal with any oil leakage;
3. Regularly check the wear and tear of the mold, and if the wear is severe, promptly repair or replace it;
4. Replace the hydraulic oil and filter element according to the maintenance cycle, and clean the heat dissipation filter screen of the electric control box.
